Most modern websites use Javascript to enable them to perform calculations and add functionality to the site.

Modern browsers have Javascript Enabled as the default option but some browsers, noteably Safari, can have Javascript disabled which will prevent many sites from functioning as they should. You may not have noticed it with some sites, but there may have been some functionality missing which you would not have seen.

To help you change the way your browser works, the main browsers are shown below with instructions on how to enable Javascript.

Google Chrome

 

1 Click on Tools and select Options
2 Click on Under The Bonnet
3 Select Content Settings (Button near the top)
4 Under Javascript tick the Enable setting - you will see it is the recommended option
5 Close the window and the site should now work correctly.
Firefox
  1 Click on the Firefox Drop down at the top left corner of the screen
2 Move the mouse to Options and Click on it (ie click on the word Options)
3 Select the COntent Tab at the top
4 Tick the Enable Javascript option
5 Click on OK
Safari
  1 Click on the Tools option at the top right corner of the browser window (a small wheel with a triangle next to it)
2 Select Preferences from the options
3 Click on the Security Tab at the top
4 Tick the Enable Javascript option
5 Close the window and the site should now work
